West Bletchley Council are hosting the Spirit of MK3 Community 2023 Awards later this year.
This community event is to celebrate the unsung heroes that have gone above and beyond to support other individuals and their community.
There are five awards:
Community Hero Award
A community hero is an individual award to a resident who has made a positive difference to the lives of others. They could have made a change with a wide range of projects in the community, from volunteering, fund raising or becoming a mentor to others.
Group Award
A group that enrich or improve the lives of their members or the wider community. The group can be a sports club, a hobby group, a religious group or a group of residents that meet on a regular basis. Nominations should be for groups that enrich and improve the lives of their members or the wider community.
Community Volunteer Award
This is an award for a member of the community that has been volunteering, raising money or awareness for a local charity. A resident can be volunteering within an organisation or on their own to support the charity.
Environmental Award
An individual who has been working hard to improve the environment or raising awareness of environmental issues. This can be from organising litter picks, reducing their carbon foot print or engaging with others to recycle.
Young Persons Community Volunteer Award
This award if for any young person (under 18 years old) who has excelled in supporting the community by volunteering or has made a positive difference to others. It can include being a role model to others or some one who shows exemplar community spirit.
